About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Journal of Pharmaceutical Chemistry covers the entire spectrum of Drug Discovery and Development Scenario. For the efficient management of the publication process, the Journal identifies the submitted manuscripts under any one of the four classes with each one having its own Aims and Scope.

 Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry

This class handles manuscript in the area of Molecular modeling, Drug design, Organic synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry. Theoretical studies will be accepted only when supported with appropriate experimental data. Novelty in either synthesis or biological activity is expected for consideration of manuscript for publication.

 Pharmaceutical Formulation and Analysis

This class handles manuscript in the area of Formulation of Novel Drug Delivery Systems, their characterization and studies on their in-vitro and in-vivo release profile. This also includes design, development and validation of analytical methods in accordance with guidelines of regulatory authorities (FDA, EMEA, ICH, WHO etc.)

 Phytochemistry of Ethnomedicines

This class handles manuscript in the area of purification, isolation and characterization of biologically active materials from the plant source. Report on Biological activity of aqueous/ methanolic extract are discouraged. To be considered for publication, establishment of active fraction along with their HPLC/ HPTLC finger printing and appropriate use of biomarkers is recommended. In case of report on isolation of active component, complete characterization data should be presented (Elemental analysis, UV, IR, HR-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR etc.)

 Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology

This class handles manuscript in the area of in-vitro biochemical method & in-vivo pharmacological model development, validation and application in the area of drug discovery and development. Simulation studies with appropriate experimental results along with their correlation will be considered for publication. Studies involving animals should be submitted along with the approval certificate from the Institutional Ethical Committee.

JPC publishes manuscript in three major categories: Research Articles, Research Communications and Research Reviews

Peer Review Process

JPC follows "Double Blind Review"

Three reviewers will review manuscripts and opinion of two reviewers will be required for the considering the manuscript for publication.

Each reviewer will be provided a minimum period of three weeks to submit their report.

JPC Editorial team will take all necessary steps to ensure smooth flow of review process and publication of the manuscript within a reasonable time.
