Vensel Publications

Independent academic publisher · Since 2013

Affordable publishing. Open access. Global reach.

Vensel Publications provides publishing support for scholarly journals, academic conferences, and research-led organisations. We work with institutions to set up and manage publishing platforms, editorial workflows, journal websites, conference systems, and related publishing infrastructure. Our approach is built around open-source technology. The systems we deploy are not locked into proprietary platforms or controlled by third-party vendors. Institutions retain ownership and control of their publishing infrastructure, data, and workflows, while Vensel provides the technical support, publishing expertise, and ongoing management needed to keep those systems running effectively. This gives universities, societies, research groups, and independent journals greater flexibility in how they publish, while avoiding unnecessary dependence on commercial publishing platforms.

What we do

Scholarly publishing, without the gatekeeping

Vensel Publications was started in 2013 to promote open-access publication. The aim was to provide an affordable publishing option that also had a standardised set of instructions, was modern, and delivered a rapid review outcome.

We continue to stand by those ideas. Because we build on open-source software rather than proprietary platforms, editors and societies keep control of their own workflows, their own branding and their own data.
